The goal of St. Edward High School is to empower our students to be creators not consumers of content. In turn, advanced research is a key component of all IB subjects. All IB Diploma candidates complete a 4,000-word independent research paper on a topic of their own choosing. This Extended Essay, coupled with research requirements in all IB courses, sets IB students apart and better prepares them for college-level research and writing. Research shows that IB students are significantly better prepared for college-level coursework involving research and find their research skills to be important for future success.
