Part-Time Percussion Instructor (Temporary, 2024 Band Season)

​

Position Description: St. Edward High School has a fantastic opportunity available for a Percussion instructor for our 2024 band season, beginning June 1 and working through the end of band season in November/December. The percussion instructor will be tasked with teaching battery and front ensemble basic playing and movement techniques, part placement, and performance preparation. 

​

Duties and Responsibilities: 

​

  • Teach all music for performances to the battery and front ensemble with mastery in mind

  • Ensure band activities support the school’s mission and provide a safe and supportive band experience

  • Exhibit appropriate, professional behavior, positive attitude, and work ethic as expected by a youth leader 

  • Attend the majority of band rehearsals and all adjudicated performances

  • Work closely with the Band Director and Assistant Band Director to understand deadlines, modify parts as needed, and support and enforce school rules and standards

  • Keep students engaged and create a culture of participation and respect

  • Perform other band-related duties as needed

​

Qualifications:

​

  • Exhibit a passion for music

  • Proficiency in playing and instructing others to play percussion instruments

  • Minimum two years of experience in music instruction preferred.  Past participation in competitive marching bands or drum corps is desired.

  • Experience writing for percussion, both battery and front ensemble

  • Excellent organizational and time management & communication skills

  • Successful criminal background screening and VIRTUS training

Position Description: St. Edward High School is seeking a full-time educational aide for a self-contained classroom environment for students with diagnosed cognitive disabilities. The educational aide will assist one student in completing academic tasks and monitor the student's behavior. The educational aide will be under the direction of the Director of the St. Andre Scholars Program. The educational aide will be expected to be present for all scheduled school days, along with in-service and prep days.

Expectations: 

​

  • Supports lessons taught by the teacher to the individual student and follows instructional plans as assigned by the teacher or school leader

  • Helps plan classroom activities as directed by the teacher and supports the teacher in all student and parent relations

  • Performs clerical duties, including, but not limited to, grading papers, making copies, and completing behavior logs 

  • Contributes to a positive climate and culture by exhibiting high professional standards

  • Understands, accepts, abides by, and implements the school's philosophy and mission statement in all school activities

  • Maintains student supervision at all times, including during enrichment period, community period, elective classes, all school day events, and transitions

  • Understand the goals and objectives outlined in the assigned student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and their Behavior Support Plan (BSP). Review these plans with the teacher.

  • Completes a behavior log on a daily basis, accurately and meeting deadlines.

  • Works with the individual student to practice and reinforce learning of the materials or skills outlined by certified staff 

  • Performs other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, field trips, morning duty, dismissal duty, and lunch duty

Qualifications:

​

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in working with individuals with special needs 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive 

  • Successful criminal background screening and VIRTUS training

  • Ability to meet educational standards as applicable

  • Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently

  • Ability to manage confidential information

Position Description: 

Support the day-to-day operations of the Development Office focusing on database management, data processing, direct communication with stakeholders, and general assistance to bolster fundraising efforts. We are seeking a meticulous individual who demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of their work and a keen eye for accuracy and thoroughness, ensuring all tasks are completed with precision and within specified timelines.

​

This position will focus on projects that will include but are not limited to capital projects, campaign gift management, and database management of defined fundraising initiatives/events. The position must sustain positive and rewarding relations between the school and its donors; work with the Director of Development and VP of Institutional Advancement to determine the best strategies for effective project management; and foster ongoing connections with internal and external constituencies.

​

Capital Campaign and Related Projects:

  • Provide database and material support to the VP of Institutional Advancement and Major Gift Officers in donor solicitation and stewardship efforts

  • Assist Development staff in tracking capital campaign commitments, with a concentration on documentation for planned/estate gifts

  • Provide support to the President and Development staff in preparation for donor visits

  • Provide support for the Campaign Committee by coordinating schedules, agendas, and related materials

​

Development Projects:

  • Process all contributions made to the St. Edward High School Scholarship Granting Organization (SEHSSGO) including data entry, acknowledgments, and reconciliation with the Finance Office

  • Assist Director of Development with maintaining materials that enhance awareness of the SEHSSGO

  • Track and manage contributions made through the Diocese of Cleveland’s Angel Fund that have been designated for St. Edward High School

  • Assist Development staff with processing event related information within the database

  • Utilize Development database to establish processes and standard procedures, and designing reports and queries to assist Development staff

​

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist Database Manager with maintaining the integrity of the database: including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual database cleanup efforts

  • Support Development team during busy seasons (e.g., end of calendar/fiscal year, February Challenge) including gift processing, providing back-up for donation processing, and deposit preparation  

  • Manage office inventory by monitoring levels and ordering materials as necessary

  • Attend and assist with Development events as necessary

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2 years’ of experience in detailed database management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Raiser’s Edge experience preferred

  • Attention to detail: thoroughness and accuracy in completing tasks and reviewing work

  • Goal-oriented work processes: strong focus on outcomes that contribute to team success

  • Communication: clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written

Position Description:

The Stewardship Coordinator is pivotal in designing, implementing, and coordinating a robust donor relations and stewardship system. This role focuses on fostering meaningful interactions and recognition of donors across all levels, ensuring sustained, positive relations between the school and its supporters. 

​

Working closely with the Director of Development and VP of Institutional Advancement, the Coordinator strategizes effective stewardship approaches and maintains active engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
 

Stewardship:

Assist Director of Development and members of the Development team in establishing a strategic process for acknowledgment, recognition, ongoing communications and continued cultivation of donors to enhance their relationship with the school and increase the likelihood of continued support. Stewardship efforts will include but are not limited to:

​

Endowment/Scholarship Program:

  • Manage database information for endowed scholarships, ensuring consistent stewardship and effective communication

  • Develop content and maintain an endowment platform on the St. Ed’s website that offers clear and comprehensive information about the school’s endowment funds, their impact, and how donors can contribute

  • Produce financial reports tailored to donors, highlighting the impact of their endowments

  • Coordinate student involvement in donor relations activities through holiday cards, thank-you notes, and personal meetings

  • Assist with the Annual Scholarship Luncheon

  • Utilize Development databases to establish processes, procedures, and generate reports to support Development, Finance, and Admission

​

Development Initiatives:

  • Provide support to the President and Development team in preparation for donor visits, ensuring seamless execution and impactful engagement

  • Assist in stewardship efforts of annual donors, Holy Cross Society members, Donoghue Legacy Society and targeted groups such as first-time donors and reunion classes

  • Organize reunion year memorabilia for the hallway display cases

  • Organize and assist with student participation in key Development events such as the annual Scholarship Luncheon, Reunion Weekend, Memorial Mass, Wings, etc.

General Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate hospitality outreach within the community for significant life events (birth, marriage, death) as needed

  • Collaborate with the Development team on correspondence, student engagement initiatives, program creation, and donor awards

  • Provide administrative support for Development initiatives/committees (Campaign, Wings Auction, Alumni Assoc.)

  • Attend and assist Development events, as necessary

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
