"INFAMOUS THE MUSICAL" TO DEBUT IN STAGED CONCERT AT ST. ED'S

"Infamous," a brand musical about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and the subsequent manhunt for his killer, John Wilkes Booth, is the masterpiece of St. Ed's Performing Arts teacher David Michaels '02. Check out the trailer for "Infamous the Musical" HERE. As writer and composer of the show, Dave was inspired to write this piece on a family vacation to Michigan in 2009. "We stopped for a day at the Henry Ford Museum and I saw the Lincoln Rocker on display and the idea stuck with me," says Mr. Michaels. "St. Ed's is the place where I fell in love with theater. John Goers and Bob Burns helped ignite that passion and interest for theater back when I was a freshman. It means the world to me that I can premiere this show at St. Ed's, the place where it all began for me."

The narrative of "Infamous" follows Booth's journey and the events that compounded upon him to commit his terrible act. "The show is a look at our divided past, told through the lens of our divided present," says Mr. Michaels. "Seeing this production come to life has given me a great sense of gratitude for the people that God has placed in my life to help this gargantuan project come to life. From the support of my amazing family, to the investors in the show who believe in what is possible, to the St. Edward Alumni who have stood with me to help stand this show on its feet, and to the amazing cast, crew and musicians, all have played a part in getting this show to where it is now. I may have written the show, but I am one player in a huge team that is equally committed to its success. I want this show to fly as high as it will go. My dream would be for 'Infamous' to be optioned by a producer and someday land on Broadway."
